• Mali Wedding Beads: Vintage Bohemian (now Czech) glass trade beads manufactured between the 19th and 20th century, part of the ancient tradition of beads used as currency. The hourglass shape bead was highly prized by the women of the Fulani Tribe of Mali, the beads were given as a gift to brides as the shape of the bead is reminiscent of the female form and thought to aid in fertility.
